Flower Garden Tour in Southern Michigan

Raker’s Trial Gardens are now open to the public. They are also sponsoring a special Connection Rally August 1-3 complete with plants, food, live music, beer, kids’ activities, and seminars. The Michigan Plant Tour includes Rakers Acres in Litchfield and loops near Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Grand Rapids. The tour is free, but an RSVP at each location is appreciated to help with parking, staffing, and refreshments. 

 

Raker’s Trial Gardens are quite impressive with hundreds of varieties, and tens of thousands of plants over several acres in a professionally arranged array of color, size, and variety. Individual gardens of specific flower brands are planted by professional growers who display their unique plants and arrangements. In addition to the gardens are numerous potted flowers and hundreds of hanging baskets. A tour of the greenhouses can be arranged.

 

Raker’s Acres is located at 10371 Rainey Road between Litchfield and Jonesville near highways 12 and 99 in Southern Michigan. Munro House Bed and Breakfast in downtown Jonesville is the nearest lodging facility to the gardens. They offer the most comfortable lodging in Hillsdale County. 10 restaurants within a mile makes this an ideal stop while making the tour, or for mixing romance with gardening.
