Jonesville Michigan’s annual Riverfest Celebration opened on Friday night with a most unusual triathlon. This event has 2 person teams. One person begins the race as a runner who goes 2.3 miles. A tag is made and the partner bikes 5.7 miles. The team is reunited for a 2 mile tandem canoe trip to the finish line.

The race takes about 1 hour. This year’s winners built a lead in the first leg, enhanced the lead in the second leg, and held on to win the race.
