Snowfall in Southern Michigan has been at a minimum since the President’s Day Ice Storm. That was February 21, 2011, when snow turned to rain, then flash-froze to turn everything to ice. The electric company referred to it as the most damaging storm in 20 years. Decent temperatures since then had resulted in the early coming of Spring… until today.
Today, I awakened to a light dusting of snow. As the day is progressing, the once green grass is almost completely snow covered and my Spring flowers may go back into hibernation. My thermometer says it’s 33 degrees out, so the snow is thick, and there is virtually no wind.
Good thing I haven’t put my snow shovels away yet. Hopefully this will be the last time I have to remove snow until Thanksgiving. Maybe I’ll just wait for Mother Nature to melt the snow from my sidewalks and driveway. After all, it is Springtime.
